Hi, I am
Anders Holt
aspiring full-stack developer
My Technologies
Java
Java is my most experienced language. I have made some major and minor projects including my bachelor in 'Shortest Paths' and an app 'HeavyMetalDK'. The latter was made in Android Studio. This also includes making games like 'Minesweeper' and 'Tic-Tac-Toe', which can be seen under my projects or in my GitHub repo.
TypeScript
Is my second most experienced language. All my JavaScript knowledge comes from my current job at 'Styrelsen for It og Læring'. I do not like JavaScript per se as I think it lacks some type-safety. This is the reason why I am currently trying to learn TypeScript through YouTube and Udemy, but also at work.
Frontend frameworks
I have used both React and Vue in my professional life, and feel comfortable using both. In my current position I'm working with Vue, Vite and Vuetify. I also strive to keep updated on the latest trends regarding frontend and frontend tooling. This includes tools as Vite, Next.js, ESBuild, Vitest and so forth.
Who am I?
I am 27 years, currently living in Aarhus and have been doing so for the past 6 years. In summer 2020, I finished my Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. I am currently working as a Frontend Developer at Raptor Services, and have been doing so since August 2022.
As a person, I am smiling and enjoying life. I love to travel and have been all around the world during my gap years and in my summer vacations. Most recently I have been to Iceland, Poland, Iran and Japan. My most memorable journeys have taken me all over South-East Asia, where diving has become a favourite hobby of mine. At home I enjoy spending time with friends, and doing sports, mostly floorball, where I play at the local club, Team Århus Floorball. But I also enjoy others sport as discgolf, padel tennis and spikeball. I also enjoy watching sports, almost anything, but my favourite is football both European and American.
My interest in programming and software started in High School/Gymnasium with the subject 'Information Technologies', and since then it has evolved and was the main reason I picked Computer Science at University. Im very fund of technology in general, and I aspire to keep up with the latest trends in software. I value development and creative solutions with modern technologies and always strive to be update-to-date with all the latest technological advances. Whenever time permits I like doing courses on Udemy to further educate my self and expand my knowledge and skill set.
My recent Projects
Here are a few past design projects I've worked on. Want to see more? Email me.
My Portfolio Website
I revamped my portfolio by adopting Contentful, Next.js, and Vercel for easy updates and efficient maintenance. This versatile stack, featuring Next.js, React, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS, not only made updates seamless but also opened doors for future projects.
HeavyMetalDK
During my Human-Computer Interaction studies, I spearheaded a project to develop a comprehensive app, from concept to execution. Partnering with heavymetal.dk, we used Android Studio and Java to create a user-friendly experience. My responsibilities included settings, APIs, notifications, and UI design. This project's drive stemmed from the prospect of real-world use, making it a rewarding and passionate endeavor.
Laerepladsen.dk
My first job as a software developer. We are developing a website called Laerepladsen.dk, and I'm a part of the entire process. We are focused on continuous and agile development and are currently working to phase out old legacy systems.
Shortest Paths
My bachelor project, where we explored different 'Shortest Paths'-algorithms. We implemented Dijkstra, AStar, Landmarks, Reach and Contraction Hierarchies.
Old Portfolio Website
I made my first portfolio in summer 2020 when I was finishing my Bachelor and wanted to seek some job opportunities. It was made with plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
